Detailed itinerary:

5 Day Wildlife & Mountain Gorilla Safari in Uganda

Day 1: Drive to Bwindi National Park

Breakfast, drive to Bwindi National Park heading towards southwestern Uganda. Lunch en route in Mbarara town. Proceed to Bwindi National Park, dinner and overnight at Bwindi View Bandas, Buhoma Community Campground, Silverback lodge, Gorilla Resort or Gorilla Forest Camp.

Day 2: Memorable Gorilla Tracking

Breakfast, report for briefing by the ranger guides. Proceed for trekking in the forest, gorilla trekking may take 2-6hours depending on where the gorillas built a nest the previous night, expect to walk long distances in steep conditions sometimes with rain overhead before you encounter any gorillas. You will enjoy the beautiful scenery that the forest and landscape has to offer. For conservation purposes, the time spent with gorillas is one hour. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at your lodge as on day one.

Day 3: Drive to Ishasha for tree Climbing Lions, Queen Elizabeth National Park

tree-climbing-lions-ugandaBreakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park with enroute game drive through the Ishasha sector, where you may have a chance to spot the tree climbing lions along side other animals like African Elephants, Buffaloes as well as Antelop species. Return for dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge, Enganzi Lodge or Bush Lodge.

Day 4: 1st Morning Game Drive – Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

A cup of tea/ coffee, go for a game drive to encounter animals like lions, Elephants, Topi, Bushbucks and Buffaloes, Uganda kob among other. Lunch at the lodge and relax as you prepare for a fantastic boat cruise on the Kazinga channel that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. On this boat cruise, you will view abundant birdlife, buffaloes, huge Nile crocodiles, Elephants basking on the shores and perhaps the highest concentration of Hippos in Africa.

Day 5: 2nd Morning Game Drive – Return to Kampala

Early break fast, enjoy the second morning game drive to catch up with the early raisers and predators returning to their hiding places, expect to see animals like the grazing hippos, elephants, lions, spotted hyenas, leopards, bushbuck, water buck, striped jackal, and warthogs. Transfer to Kampala with lunch en-route. On the way, look out for the famous long horned Ankole cattle and several Zebras in the Lake Mburo area. Stopover at the Uganda equator for photographs and informative talks, proceed to Entebbe Airport via Kampala for your flight back home.
