12 Days Tanzania Wildlife Safari & Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda

Welcome to East Africa! The 12 day East Africa tour packages starts in Arusha or Kilimanjaro and ends in Kigali – Rwanda, allowing you to explore all the best safari destinations in the Northern circuit of Tanzania such as Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Conservation area (World’s 8th wonder), Serengeti plains and the beautiful Mwanza region. Cross to Rwanda via Rusumo and enjoy Africa’s finest safari adventure of gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. If you are to self-drive in Tanzania following the same route, a strong 4×4 car is highly recommended to explore Africa at its purest! Below is the proposed day by day itinerary which can be amended to best fit your interests, budget and time.

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, followed by shopping for some items we shall use while in the wild. Drive for 2 hours to Tarangire National Park, famous for the largest herds of Elephants. Check in your lodge, lunch and embark on the game-drive until sun-set. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park

Breakfast followed by a morning game drive, retire for lunch and drive to Lake Manyara National Park, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Game Drive in Lake Manyara N.P, drive to Karatu

Full day game drive to explore the hidden treasures of Lake Manyara National park including the tree-climbing lions, later drive to Karatu for overnight before entering Ngorongoro conservation area.

Day 4: Explore Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Leave Karatu early morning after breakfast to explore the magnificent Ngorongoro conservation area, one of the 8 wonders of the world.

Day 5: Olduvai Gorge and Serengeti Plains

Today we explore Olduvai Gorge and evening game drive in Serengeti plains. This is one of the must visit destinations in Africa, famous for the wildebeest migration. Dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Explore Serengeti Plains

Breakfast followed by Hot-air balloon safari adventure, and evening game drive to explore more of the Tanzania wildlife in Serengeti National Park.

Day 7: Serengeti N.P to Mwanza

Morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, lunch and hit the road to Mwanza for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 8: Relax in Mwanza

Today we relax in Mwanza, explore the city, ports and nearby attractions, enjoy boat cruise with fresh fish from Lake Victoria.

Day 9: Mwanza to Rusumo

Early morning drive Mwanza from to Rusumo on the boarder between Tanzania and Rwanda. Time permitting, we can visit Rusumo falls and spend a night in Kigali capital of Rwanda.

Day 10: Rusumo to Kigali for a city tour

Kigali is among the top 5 cleanest cities in Africa. It is a must visit when you take a guided or self-drive safari in East Africa. Among the attractions in Kigali include Gisozi genocide museum, Camp Kigali (Also Genocide memorial), local art and craft shops as well as fruits markets. Dinner and overnight in Kigali.

Day 11: Drive to Volcanoes National Park

A relaxed morning, followed by breakfast and drive to Volcanoes Gorilla Park (2hrs), check in your lodge for Lunch, and embark on the afternoon cultural tour where we visit local communities in their homes, and fields, take part in their day to day activities.

Day 12: Gorilla Tracking, departure

This is your day for life time adventure experience in Africa. Gorilla trekking in Africa is memorable, ends by afternoon, lunch and hit the road back to Kigali where the tour ends.

Possible Extensions
