Ruberangeyo explains that about 18, 651 genocide survivors with ailments and more than 15, 000 trauma cases caused by genocide and more than 18 000 have already received treatments in fourteen

The most conditions being treated caused by the genocide include High Blood Pressure, Fistula in women who were raped and trauma among others. Providing free medical services will not only treat the survivors’ physical wounds, but also the invisible scars on their hearts which were caused by the 1994 genocide movements.

This year 2014, about Rwf800 million is expected to be used in the treatment of the 1994 genocide survivors. This amount will take care of the genocide victims receiving treatment in or outside the country.
