Rwanda development board vows to take tourism to new Heights

RDB in conjunction with solimar International, a Washington DC-based tourism development and marketing firm, are in a campaign to promote Rwanda’s tourism potential to the great heights. According to Rwanda Development Board, the United States Company extends an extensive international expertise plus great experience working in East Africa to boost the country’s top foreign exchange earner.

This 18 months campaign is aimed at gearing towards promoting Rwanda amongst the East African Community states will focus on distinguishing the country from neighbouring destinations by informing East African Communities nationals, expatriates and international travellers about the country’s extensive nature and culture-based tourism attractions.

In the an attempt to promote tourism, east African countries of Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda use a single visa to tour areas of interest within the specified countries.

To that note however, the US$ 100 visa valid for 90 days is paid at the point of entry or in foreign missions and each state will take a share of US$ 30. However, the nation which processes the visa entry will receive an extra US$ 10 in administration costs.

This is a great opportunity for Rwanda that comes after the launch of the East African single joint visa and the broad global recognition of Rwanda’s exceptional nature, culture, and adventure experiences in publications like National Geographic Traveller and Conde Naste Traveller, according to David C. Brown.

David c. Brown added that, the campaign will increase the flow of tourists in Rwanda from other East African countries. In this struggle, the Rwanda Development Board will work hand in hand with members of the regional and international tourism industry, including safari operators, travel agents, airlines, and transportation providers among others.

It should be noted that, Rwanda is among the top tourism destination in the whole world, this is so because, this country is endowed with some of the most tourist potentials like Mountain Gorillas and golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park, Chimpanzees and colubus monkeys in Volcanoes national park plus a variety of birds and animals in Akagera National park. The view of Virunga Mountains also gives tourists a memorable story to tell when back to their respective countries.
